Marcus touched my stomach yesterday and discovered that the shape has changed and that it's getting hard. He was so surprised. He decided he's going to have to touch my stomach more often so that he isn't so surprised in the future.

The Search Continues
The search for a daycare continues. I called the Hilltop Christian Daycare yesterday and they stated that their daycare serves 2 to 5 year olds. I guess we'll have to find another option for our little one. Thanks to Marcus & Nicole, Tonya and Marie for their resources, expert advice and experiences shared to assist us in looking for the right daycare. I don't know what we'd do without you guys!

UPDATE
Ok. We just found a preschool affiliated with the church. We have to wait until Monday to find out if they take infants and whether or not their rates are reasonable. This is VERY exciting because 1. The preschool is affiliated with the Church of Christ, 2. We've visited this church many times and enjoy the services and the people there, 3. It's 4 blocks from my (Marcus') job, how great would it be if I could have lunch with our baby everyday! Please keep us in prayer that we make the right decisions.
IT BEGINS!
Today, Marcus and I went to an infant care center to see if we liked it, ask questions, and get ona waiting list. The one we went to didn't seem to be concerned about a waiting list. The prices are comparatively reasonable. It's a christian school. They had a 3/1 student to teacher ratio. It was very clean, and we came unannounced. I didn't realize what a task it is to get quality care for a baby. Say a prayer for us. We're on the look out for quality care near work.

more visits to the doctor
so we saw the ob for the first time on thursday. it wasn't quite what we expected. i was expecting an ultrasound that would help pinpoint how far along i am. instead, there was a manual exam with a doctor's best guess at a due date using some circle shaped calendar. i do have an ultrasound scheduled for what we think is week ten to try to provide a more accurate estimate of our baby's birthday. i like the doctor. i'm not sure what a good idea it is to have an hmo while pregnant though. so, my ultrasound is scheduled in another office on a different street, and this morning i'm going to the lab on yet another street to have an ob panel done among other things.
i am very excited. funny thing is i have pregnancy side effects that aren't quite as glamorous as the usual vommitting. i have no problem falling asleep, but staying asleep is a problem despite feeling quite exhausted during the day. i have terrible gas. i am really grateful to have avoided the while nausea thing, it would be hard to teach if i were throwing up throughout the morning.
my pants are beginning to feel tight in the waist, but marcus can't see why . . . and that's nice because i don't think i'll be able to say that much longer. it is becoming clear to me that some women look pregnant when they are pregnant and some women look fat (this is after one visit to the ob) . . .i hope i can manage to fall into the first category.
